The Inter-American Development Bank is looking for a Public Sector Institutional Capacity Senior Specialist, with relevant experience in citizen security and Justice.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Criminology, Public Policy, Public Administration, Political Science, Development Economics, or another related field;
- Project Management certification;
- At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in the implementation of programs, preferably in the area of citizen security and justice;
- Be fluent (oral and written) in Portuguese and English;
- Proficiency in an additional official IDB Group language (Spanish or French) is a plus;
- Soft skills: solid skills in working in multi-disciplinary and cross-sector teams to develop complex and innovative projects, good communication, capacity to engage in policy dialogue and knowledge of multilateral development institutions and their lending instruments.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the implementation of the citizen security and justice projects in Brazil;
- Design and evaluate citizen security and justice projects and advise government agencies in the planning and monitoring of projects;
- Develop complex projects at different levels of government;
- Conduct policy dialogue with the public sector;
- Promote innovative approaches to address key sector challenges;
- Realize operational alignments within the ICS Clusters;
- Generate and manage knowledge in areas related to the citizen security and justice field (social prevention, policing, justice services, and management);
- Work independently with limited oversight;
- Guide, coach and mentor junior staff to develop technical expertise.
