Summary: The U.S. Mission in Rio de Janeiro is seeking for eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Clerk in the Political and Economic Section.

The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 of hours per week)

Supervisory Position: No

Relocation Expenses Reimbursed: No

Travel Required: Not Required

Basic Function of the Position

Performs administrative assistant and secretarial functions for the Chief of the Political-Economic Section. Manages calendars and appointments. Prepares correspondence and manages office files. Organizes travel of Section officers, prepares travel and representational vouchers, tracks and processes employee leave as timekeeper. Provides support to the Section’s work with Brazilian contacts and counterparts.

Education Requirements: Two Years of College or university studies is required.

EXPERIENCE: Progressively administrative experience working with professionals and government officials is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Good knowledge of protocol. Knowledge of political and economic personalities and events. Knowledge of Brazilian government institutions, civil society, and the private sector is required.

LANGUAGE: Level IV (Fluent) in both written and spoken Portuguese and English is required. (This may be tested)

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to work with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Outlook, Internet, and software applications of common use. (This may be tested)
