REQUIREMENTS 

EXPERIENCE:

Experience in cultural programming and/or event planning is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

Working knowledge of Brazil’s political, social, and economic realities and of U.S. society, institutions and history. Good knowledge of Minas Gerais program environment. Knowledge of Brazilian government protocol to address high-level officials. Familiarity with public relations/marketing techniques. Knowledge of media personalities and district media outlets.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, International Relations, or NGO management is required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: 

Level IV (Fluent) written and spoken English is required. (This may be tested)

Level IV (Fluent) written and spoken Portuguese is required. (This may be tested)

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collect and process data are required. Ability to develop and maintain local contacts; to organize and implement complex programs; to think creatively; to exercise sound public relations and professional judgment; to write well in Portuguese and English; to use computer software (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet, social media tools); to learn new computer software programs like PDCRM and MAT, and to work independently is required.
