Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
    • 4 years of experience in internal or executive communications, media, government or non-profit environment, with a focus on writing and strategic communications.
    • Ability to speak and write English and Portuguese fluently and idiomatically.

 

Preferred Qualifications

    • Domain expertise with a compliance control framework, including risk assessment, compliance testing, monitoring, and governance systems
    • Strong writer that can help shape the internal comms narrative and effectively communicate via presentations, scripts, or emails without significant editing.
    • Experienced in designing presentations, videos and creative collateral.
    • Excellent project management, interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to drive and implement ideas in a changing environment.

 

About The Job

As a member of the Executive and Internal Communications team, you will be part of a team which produces employee communications and events for Google executives. You will work with members of your internal client team on communications initiatives, projects and programs. You will support the work of the team to create strategic communications campaigns, come up with innovative ways to engage employees that are in tune with Google’s culture, write communications, business update presentations and talking points. You will also collaborate with internal partners as needed across functions (PR, Policy, Legal, HR, Operations, etc.) and geographies.

As a member of the Internal Communications team, you’ll contribute to help Googlers understand our strategy and feel proud to work here. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with internal partners across multiple functions (e.g., People Operations, Real Estate & Workplace Services, Policy, Ethics & Compliance, Legal, etc.) to create strategic communication plans and innovative campaigns to engage employees throughout our offices in Latin America. We’re looking for great written and verbal communicators with a strong sense of Google’s voice and culture, as well as a commitment to our core values of communicating openly and transparently with employees. To succeed here, you’ll need to be a creative self-starter who is willing to try new things and can manage numerous projects with tight deadlines.

We help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders–and our own employees–about the benefits of Google’s products, our distinctive company culture/values and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day. You are quick-witted, entrepreneurial and intellectually curious. To succeed in this role, you are willing to try new things and can manage numerous projects with tight deadlines. Things happen quickly at Google, and to do great work, you need to be an enthusiastic team player who can work cross-functionally with partners across PR, comms, marketing, product and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Manage internal communications, strategic plans, and initiatives from beginning to end.
  • Create new, strategic communications campaigns, including innovative ways to engage employees that are aligned with Google’s culture.
  • Develop, write, and edit communications, including organizational and program narratives, speeches, emails, articles, and slide presentations. Distill complex subjects into coherent and easy-to-understand language.
  • Develop creative strategies for communicating to employees that inform and motivate. Consider and think through the frequency of, and vehicles for, communications, and coordinate across different areas of the business and company as necessary.
  • Interact with and influence executives, and provide advice that reflects an understanding of their business and leadership style.
