Operational Context:
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is looking for university students or recent graduates interested in a remunerated internship at its Sao Paulo Field Unit, Brazil. There is one full-time position available: 37 hours per week, from Monday to Friday.  The selected intern will receive a Certificate of Internship upon satisfactory conclusion of the assignment and having completed the UNHCR online mandatory courses.
The contract will have a three-month period, being renewable for further three months upon agreement. UNHCR encourages the application of indigenous persons, afro descendants, LGBTI, persons living with HIV/AIDS and other minority groups.

Tasks / Responsibilities:
This is a multidisciplinary internship under the supervision of the Head of Field Unit Sao Paulo. The intern will assist in various areas of the office, including project, finance, communication, protection and
local integration.

The main activities to be performed are:
– Support the financial analysis of UNHCR implementing partners;
– Support the elaboration of Excel tables;
– Analyse and systematize data;
– Support research activities, training, writing and events;
– Support local integration projects focusing on refuge applicants and refugees;
– Assist in the preparation of media content and public information activities;
– Prepare reports, fact sheets and PowerPoint presentations;
– Translate reports and documents;
– Administer UNHCR medical insurance plan for locally recruited staff.
– Maintain daily tracking record of staff and families to provide accurate information in case of
emergency.
– Maintain personnel records in the office, including maintenance of the attendance, overtime and
leave records.
– Perform other related duties as required

Essential Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
– Students who have completed at least two years of undergraduate and recent degrees in Social Sciences, Accounting, Actuarial Sciences, or related fields;
– Computer skills;
– Previous experience in assisting vulnerable populations will be highly evaluated;
– Excel skills will be considered an asset.
– Proficiency in Portuguese and knowledge of English.
Required Competencies:
– Pro-activeness, flexibility and adaptability required;
– Excellent interpersonal skills.
