Expected date of the internship: December/2019 – January/2020.
Expected duration of 4 months – on a part-time basis (25h per week).
Assignment: Under the supervision of the Human Resources Officer, the intern is expected to carry out the following activities:
– Conduct research and contribute to organize data and files;
– Assist in the gathering and preparation of documents, lists and reports;
– Assist in the receipt, record, cataloguing and distribution of information, documents,
contracts and reports and in the organization of files;
– Maintain logs and files and update records in prearranged format for subsequent use;
– Collect and gather data and information on standard HR operational procedures;
– Assist in the information gathering, revision and updating of the Welcome Briefing
material for the sessions to be delivered to new comers as well as in the HR internal
procedures control and logistics;
– Create and update spreadsheets as needed;
– Assist in some basic aspects of the recruitment processes, such as job posting,
setting up interviews and reference checks;
– Day-to-day support to the work of the unit.
Learning Objectives:
The Internship Programme shall provide on-the-job training and, in the exchange for this
experience, the intern is expected to contribute to the activities of the HR unit.
The intern will be exposed to the work of an UN HR unit, learning how it functions with various
HR processes and services of an international organization.
As a result of this internship experience, the intern will be able to:
– Analyze quantitative data and prepare reports;
– Classify information into categories;
– Compile information from various sources;
– Prepare presentations;
– Draft and write correspondences, reports, memos, etc.

Educational qualification:
– Completion of at least three years of full-time studies in a university, at the time of
application, in Administration, Psychology or related fields;
– Proficiency in Portuguese and working knowledge in English;
– Knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point.
