For this position, the monthly remuneration, which will be paid in local currency, will be BRL 7.268,86

Main responsibilities:
• Support all phases of the project implementation: identification of needs, proposing actions, technical and financial monitoring;
• Provide support to the evaluation, systematization and dissemination of experiences, initiatives and best practices in the field of Social and Human Sciences;
• Support the Coordinator and the Programme Officer to work with multilateral and bilateral agencies, as well as with national government and private sector entities;
• Support the SHS Coordinator and the Programme Officer to implement the sector’s Projects;
• Support the Coordinator and the Programme Officer to disseminate UNESCO’s experience in the field of SHS sector activities;
• Support partners, including UN Agencies and private organizations, government and non-government on operations and activities connected to the SHS sector;
• Participate and prepare documents for seminars, workshops, briefing sessions, missions, and other events related to the projects;
• Assist the Coordinator and the Programme Officer on the budget control and administration and systematically present follow up of all administrative and financial issues of the projects;
• Act as a liaison among UNESCO and its contractors and donors; manage project’s activities and expenditures;
• Prepare reports, correspondence and documents as requested;
• Summarize information reflecting current and future obligations;
• Arrange travel, meetings and take notes as directed;
• Maintain and keep current registers, control files updated;
• Perform other related duties as requested.

Education:
Completion of secondary education is the minimum educational background required; University Degree in social and human science or administration will be an asset.

Work Experience:
Minimum of five years of previous experience in managing technical cooperation projects’ activities and expenditures.
Experience in supporting technical or managerial professionals at the national or international level is required.
Experience in international organization as well as knowledge of UNESCO or UN will be an asset.

Skills/ Competencies:
Pro-activeness and ability to work under pressure; initiative and discretion. Ability and flexibility to manage workload and to work under pressure, with capacity for accuracy, paying close attention to detail and quality of work. Ability to maintain accurate files and records; good organization skills. Ability to work in a team environment to achieve common goals. Good IT skills (Microsoft package), including good knowledge of standard office software such as excel. Ability to handle web based management systems. Good interpersonal skills with ability to maintain effective working relations within a multi-cultural environment: with people of different national and cultural background. Conditions of Employment:

This assignment is of full-time nature (Monday to Thursday: 8h30 to 12h30 / 14h to 18h; Friday: 8h30 to 14h).

The contract will be only for six months, with a probationary period of thirty days, with the purpose of covering a maternity leave.
