Description
As a Contract Manager you will serve as a trusted advisor on contract management and delivery. You will be accountable for all aspects of the end-to-end contract process operations, contract process monitoring and improvement and compliance of Service Level Agreements (SLAs). In day-to-day operations, time and effort is required to manage a moderate number of cross-divisional global, regional and local procurement stakeholders. The Contract Manager will report to the Vice President, Services.
Main Responsibilities
- Works closely with internal stakeholders ensuring they are aware of obligations in order to comply with contractual requirements;
- Maintain accurate, accessible records on monitoring contract milestones, deliverables and identifying risk;
- Provide thorough and timely review of documents drafted by other parties, evaluating and mitigating risk to the company;
- Assist internal key stakeholders with project execution plans and provides inputs for risk mitigation plan and project processes;
- Reviews contractual requirements expressed in RFP and prepares detailed compliance matrices to contract terms;
- Contribute to record keeping for all contract-related correspondence and documentation;
- Provide contract-related issue resolution, both internally and externally;
- Be the subject matter expert of contract governance, contractual language, and the contract lifecycle;
- Monitor contracts and move forward with close-out, extension, or renewal of contracts as needed;
- Ensure billing and invoicing are submitted on time;
- Establish and maintain relationships with partners and customers;
- Maintains a good understanding of the processes used by the Company to monitor its day-to-day affairs and follows those processes (e.g. contract approval and performance reporting);
- Stays informed and makes others aware of the business area’s procurement activities, procedures and policies at all times;
- Travel as required.
Qualifications
- BS/BA degree (general business, legal, finance, science or related discipline) or equivalent education plus experience; advance degree is considered an asset;
- 3-5 years minimum experience with drafting, reviewing and negotiating contract preferably in software industry;
- Previous experience dealing with contracts in the Public Sector industry considered an asset;
- In depth knowledge of the Brazilian legislation in regards to Software Licensing and Software Implementation contracts is an asset;
- Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to research and understand legal, contractual and financial implications of contracting terms;
- Exceptional attention to detail, and talent for accuracy and precision;
- Must be self-motivated and able to work autonomously; have a commitment to change and deliver improvement;
- Excellent interpersonal relationships, leadership, and problem-solving skills;
- Previous in-house counsel experience working in software company is considered an asset;
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Brazilian Portuguese. Other languages are considered an asset.
