About the job

Under the guidance of the supervisor, provide professional technical assistance and support for programme design, planning and implementation, management and evaluation of programme/project activities, data analysis and progress reporting, in support of programme goals and objectives.

Requirements 

  • A university degree in one of the following fields is required: International Relations, Social Sciences, Government, Public Administration, Public Policy, Social Policy, Social Development, Community Development, or another relevant technical field;
  • Relevant experience at social program management, social mobilization, private sector dialogue, development and implementation of education policies or building partnership with a diversity of actors in the job market;
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English;
  • Competencies: self and ethical awareness, collaborative work, innovation, drive to achieve impactful results and manages ambiguity and complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional assistance in data analysis, complete and accurate reporting as well as participate in the Programme Knowledge Network system of “lessons learned” and other corporate-level databases;
  • Contribute to the identification of critical intervention points and measures by administering a consistent and transparent monitoring system;
  • Work collaboratively with the youth & adolescents area that is strongly linked with the education area, in order to optimize strategies, funds and results achievement;
  • Promote fundraising strategies aligned with the Resource, Mobilization & Partnerships area, to identify national and international opportunities to finance the 1MiO initiative and its respective activities;
  • Monitors programme implementation progress and compliance;
  • Participate in annual sector review meetings with government counterparts;
  • Collaborate and prepare annual program status reports in a timely manner, as required;
  • Support a rights-based programmes approach in the formulation of programme goals and objectives and development of strategies and implementation frameworks;
  • Strengthen the engagement of private sector, governments, and civil society with the 1 MiO (GenU) initiative to jointly built their capacities foster their capacity building to generate opportunities for adolescents and youth from vulnerable backgrounds;
  • Analyze programme related issues and policies from a children’s and women’s rights perspective and advocacy at the community and family levels for elevating credibility in national policy debates;
  • Establish and maintain linkage to the Regional Programme Knowledge Network to ensure the availability of current and accurate programme data.
