Role Purpose:

To provide essential projectsupport for the project Programa para la Mejora de la Calidad de los Servicios de Educacion Superior y Tecnologica a Nivel Nacional currently being delivered to six universities in Peru, Programa para la Mejora de la Calidad de los Servicios de Educacion Superior y Tecnologica a Nivel Nacional.
We are currently implementing this project in Peru, in partnership with the University of Liverpool, through which professors at each of 6 public universities are learning how to virtualise courses for remote delivery of degree programmes. In addition, one technical lead at each university receives technical assistance from the University of Liverpool regarding the systems aspect of virtualisation. The end result is that 35 courses at each university will be virtualised by the end January 2021. This project is fully funded by the Programa para la Mejora de la Calidad y Pertinencia de los Servicios de Educación Superior Universitaria y Tecnológica a Nivel Nacional (PMESUT), which has as its source funding the Interamerican Development Bank.
Support will be mainly on administrative, financial, communicational and general programme support tasks.

Responsibilities:

These are some of the main responsibilities, but not limited to:

1. Programme Support

    • Support the planning, management and delivery of the project.
    • Support the tracking of key project activities and deliverables.
    • Support the effective information management of all project documentation on Teams and Sharepoint.
    • Support relationship management with Peruvian and UK stakeholders and partners.
    • Coordinate external and internal project meetings, prepare minutes, collate and file supporting documents as necessary.
    • Support with the design and formatting of instruments for data collection (both quantitative and qualitative) and the effective implementation of these instruments in the field.
    • Collect, systematise and analyse monitoring and evaluation data and summarise this for stakeholder, client and internal reporting purposes.
    • Report weekly to Project Manager on developments arising from project implementation.

2. Marketing and communications

    • Support timely and effective communications with all internal and external stakeholders.
    • Support communication of details of events/workshops/project milestones to relevant stakeholders.
    • Support the implementation of the Marketing and Communication Plan.
    • Ensure that communication pieces are produced internally and externally in line with British Council policies and standards.
    • Prepare and provide input for presentations as required, especially with data on project reach and impact for local or international stakeholders.

3. Finance and Administrative Support

    • Support in the management of project finance in accordance with agreed project financial plans.
    • Provide input necessary for budget and expenditure control on a weekly basis.
    • Support procurement processes (obtain quotes, coordinate with suppliers and consultants), raise purchase orders, control payments and delivery of services and other aspects of financial support in SAP, with strict adherence to corporate guidelines and deadlines.
    • Keep record of all transactions, including provision of support for selection of vendors in accordance with procurement policies, scanning and filing all related documents

Requirements:

    • Ability to work in both Spanish and English required (B2)
    • Experience in development and/or education projects.
    • Experience providing support to projects and/or events, including technical, financial and administrative support.
    • At least one year experience in project operations support for a large-scale project (preferably in education sector)

Additional Information:

    • All applicants must have the possibility to work 100% remotely.
    • Evening and weekend work may be required during project delivery (to be compensated in coordination with line manager).
